The redevelopment of Indian Head Park in Stephenville has started and a large number of campers are already settled in the facility, which was a popular camping about two decades ago. While it was closed a lot of people used the park for walking and hiking.

QUESTION: What do you think of Indian Head Park being redeveloped for camping purposes?

Frank Russell

- Port au Port East

I don’t see anything wrong with the redevelopment of Indian Head Park. It’s a great attraction for tourists to see what a beautiful area Stephenville has to offer for all.

Leon O’Gorman

- Kippens

I think it’s excellent to have Indian Head Park redeveloped. We camped in it when it was open back in the early 1990’s. It has great campsites, which are nice and big and the best part it’s fully serviced.

Keith Bonnell

- Stephenville

I think we desperately needed it. I lived in Toronto for many years and our family used the park when we vacationed in Stephenville because it was like being in the country and close to town and the hospital. Hopefully it’ll take the “squatters” off our pristine shoreline.

Cliff Muise

- Stephenville

It’s good for people out of town coming in and it’s a great place for them to go with their campers. Indian Head Park is now being put to good use and it’s great for golfers because it’s so close to Harmon Seaside Links.

Alphonsus Jesso

- Stephenville

It’s nice to see it being done over after being shut down for so many years. I remember working in there planting trees many years ago. Indian Head Park is a really nice park.

George Tucker

- Stephenville

I think they’re doing a very good job on redeveloping Indian Head Park, especially since mostly all the campgrounds are fully service. I know of people in Stephenville who are out enjoying it. I worked at the park years ago and it was nice there then.
