Two Stephenville men have been charged with assault in separate incidents reported to the Bay St. George RCMP on Wednesday.
The first was reported at about 10:45 a.m. at a residence on Brook Street in Stephenville where an investigation determined an assault had taken place between two individuals who are known to each other.
As a result a 35-year-old man from Stephenville was arrested and charged with assault and breach of a court order. He was held in custody and is appearing in court today.
Then at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to another report of assault at a residence on Atlantic Avenue in Stephenville.
A 50-year-old man from Stephenville was arrested and charged with assault and mischief as a result of an investigation into that incident.
He was released with conditions of an undertaking and a promise to appear in court at a later date.
