Provincial wildlife officers set up this bear trap in the trailer court area of Curling in Corner Brook following a report of a bear sighting in the Georgetown Road area on Sunday.According to the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agrifoods, there have been no further reports and this is the only trap currently set in the Corner Brook area.
As of this past Friday, the province had “successfully handled” 45 bears in traps set throughout the eight zones that make up western Newfoundland.
