The microbrewery will occupy a 7,000 square foot portion of a building owned by Major’s Logging Ltd. The operation will have a 3,000-hectolitre per year brewing capacity (15-barrel) and include a tap room, growler fill station and retail area.
The undertaking was registered, as required for environmental assessment, on Aug. 21. The deadline for public comments on the proposal is Sept. 26 and the minister’s decision is due by Oct. 5.
The microbrewery is part of Major’s Logging’s plan to repurpose the former Bargain Shop building.
The company also plans to locate a boutique hotel in part of the building.
