The City of Corner Brook had set the original deadline as last Friday, but has now moved it to Aug. 11.
The city would not divulge how many proposals have been received so far, but said the deadline was extended in order to give interested proponents a little more time to submit more detailed proposals.
According to the city’s request for proposals, the purpose of the feasibility study is to determine a solution to the existing and impending gaps in aquatic facilities in the Corner Brook/Humber Valley region as a means to address the long-term recreational needs of the community.
The study will include a cost analysis of the building, operation and maintenance of such a facility. It will also consider appropriate operational models and present a concept plan with a recommended location.
