A man was taken to hospital after trying to extinguish a vehicle fire in Corner Brook Wednesday morning.
According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the Corner Brook Fire Department responded to the fire in the Caribou Road area at around 11 a.m.
The SUV was fully engulfed in flames by the time the fire department arrived, though it was quickly extinguished.
The owner of the vehicle had remotely started the SUV before it caught fire, said police. The man who was hurt was not the owner, but witnessed the fire and tried to put it out. He was taken to Western Memorial Regional Hospital for what police said were minor injuries.
The investigation into the fire is continuing.
