Cox’s Cove man charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm in summertime accident

A man from Cox’s Cove has been charged with drunk driving causing bodily harm in relation to an accident that happened nearly three months ago.

Katlin Dean Payne, 29, was charged with four offences sworn at provincial court in Corner Brook Tuesday.

The charges stem from an accident that happened Aug. 4 in the town of Irishtown-Summerside on the north shore of the Bay of Islands.

The charges are impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, impaired operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm while exceeding the legal limit of alcohol, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

Payne, who was arrested Monday, appeared in provincial court Tuesday morning and was released from custody.

His matters will next be called in court Nov. 28.
