The Department of Justice and Public Safety is hosting a one-day criminal justice summit in Marystown on Thursday, Sept. 18.

Representatives from Indigenous groups, the criminal justice system and other community groups will be taking part.

Justice and Public Safety Minister Andrew Parsons will deliver opening remarks at the summit, which is only open to invited participants.

According to a release from the department, the event will offer an opportunity for open and productive dialogue on the current operation of the criminal justice system.

Collaborative solutions to addressing challenges in the system will also be identified.
