A Deer Lake man has been charged with two sex offences involving a young girl.

Louis Manuel Pacheco, 54, made his first appearances on the charges in provincial court in Corner Brook Tuesday.

The charges include sexual assault and sexual exploitation for touching the girl for a sexual purpose.

Pacheco was released from custody and had his next court date set for Jan. 23.
