This year’s fundraiser collected over $7,000 for the registered Canadian charity, which is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary.
During the event, individuals have the opportunity to honour their loved ones by releasing a butterfly from their own hands.
Over 7,000 butterflies will be released in St. John’s, Carbonear, Marystown, Clarenville, Gander, Corner Brook and Labrador West.
All butterflies will be released simultaneously across the province at 5:45 p.m. in Newfoundland and 5:15 p.m. in Labrador.
The Dream Fund makes dreams come true for sick kids the province. It was founded in 2007 by William Short in Marystown at the age of 14.
