Firearm stolen from Curling area of Corner Brook

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region is investigating a theft of a firearm in the Curling area.

Between Oct. 6-9, a 12-gauge shotgun was reportedly stolen from a vehicle while parked at a residence on Petries Street in Corner Brook.

Initial investigation has determined there was no ammunition taken during the offence. The incident was reported to the RNC Friday afternoon and the firearm has yet to be recovered.

It is illegal to possess or purchase a firearm without the required license and documentation. It is also an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada to possess stolen property and may result in criminal charges.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division is continuing its investigation into this matter and anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC at 637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
