Marcella Williams, left, and Toni Snook are seen awaiting the start of the second annual Pride March held on Saturday in Stephenville that involved about 30 people parading along the sidewalk from Golden G on Main Street to College of the North Atlantic’s D.S.B Fowlow Building.

“It doesn’t matter who you love, as long as you love,” she said following her participation in the second annual Pride March held in Stephenville on Saturday as part of Stephenville Pride Week 2016 events.

She was one of about 30 people who took part in the march that started at Golden G Dairy Bar on the end of Main Street and went to College the D.S.B. Fowlow Building, where an open-mic event was held.

The march involved people from different sectors of the community, including students from Stephenville High School’s Gender Sexuality Alliance, people from the Mi’kmaq community, others from the LBGTQ community and supporters from the community at large.

Williams said it was great that she could participate in the walk with her son and that they can help get the message out , whether it’s for equality for the Mi’kmaq community, the LGBTQ community in this instance, or the general community at large in other instances.
