Hundreds come out for crematorium protest in Deer Lake

There was plenty of drama Monday evening at the Deer Lake municipal building

As councillors approced the building for its regular council meerting, they wwere met by protestors carrying plenty of signs.

Over 100 people gathered in the town hall parking lot to protest the decision made by council to allow Parson's Funeral Home to move ahead with the installation of a crematorium at their Main Street location. 

Since it was approved, many residents have sent protest to the council and the project has been put on hold pending an appeal.

Those gathered at the town hall parking lot on Monday night were not so much apposed to the crematorium as they were to location being in the middle of a residential area near schools and businesses.
