The icy conditions around Corner Brook have been making it difficult to get around over the past few days.

That’s especially true for anyone walking and that includes mail carriers.

On Friday Canada Post decided to cancel its delivery in the city due to the icy road conditions, which it said in an email continue to make mail delivery unsafe.

The city experienced freezing rain earlier this week and since then sidewalks, some roads and parking lots have become hazardous to navigate.

Canada Post said delivery would resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so.

In the meantime, it’s encouraging residents to clear and salt their walkways, stairs and driveways.
