At approximately 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Ultramar Gas Bar on Main Street in Stephenville.
A man, wearing a balaclava ski mask and saying he had a knife, allegedly entered the Ultramar and demanded money, cigarettes and beer and then fled on foot with those items. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Police Dog Services was called to the scene and followed a track to a nearby residence. The man was located and apprehended a short time later.
Wrathall is charged with committing robbery and being disguised with intent.
Members of the RCMP Forensic Identification Services were on the scene Wednesday morning carrying out an investigation, which continues.
