Ernesto Fuentes will drive across the country and post daily video logs of his experience meeting with entrepreneurs in his latest project, Create Entrepreneur.

The filmmaker and photographer had a couple of projects lined up in Canada’s western-most province for next month. Typically, one would fly across the country, get done what was needed and return. The Corner Brook multimedia guru doesn’t do typical.

Firstly, Fuentes is driving from Newfoundland to British Columbia. If that is not “interesting” enough, he will be meeting with entrepreneurs along the way and document his experience through an online video log series called “Create Entrepreneur.”

He will load up his Mini Countryman Cooper S — which the BMW automobile dealership has redesigned for the project — with his videography and photography equipment April 1, and start the 9,000-kilometre journey in St. John’s. He has contacts in many major cities across the country, and will be meeting with many of them along the way.

The world is captivated by millionaire entrepreneurs, people who Fuentes says can inspire everybody. However, there is much more to learn in the business world than fame and fortune.

“I have been inspired by the regular person, the regular Joe and Jane,” he said. “How they are fantastic at what they do, how focused they are, and how they want to excel in that.

“To me, it is not about meeting somebody important or famous.”

However, having some notable names involved also doesn’t hurt an entrepreneur trying to make it in a competitive industry such as videography, photography, and website design. In addition to the support of Mini for this project, Fuentes is also using the music of singer-songwriter Kinnie Star — who he will be meeting with in Calgary — and has a sit-down scheduled with Olympian skeletor Cassie Hawrysh.

This is a project which Fuentes hopes will expand himself as an entrepreneur, but also provide something significant for the people he is working with. The daily video logs will be featured predominantly in black and white, with some exceptions, and encompassing the entire day in about a 6-8 minute clip.

As the co-founder, along with his partner Angela Bugden of Corner Brook, of MyVid he has been following the traditional marketing avenues. He is now ready to step outside that normal. Despite it being a lot of work to compose a video every day for two weeks, quality is his focus.

“There is going to be good quality,” he said. “There is going to be good content. There are a lot of vlogs out there today, but they are not all great. When it comes to my stuff, I think that is important.”

Fuentes’ website is already live, and includes links to his various social media accounts:
