Man charged with breaking into Corner Brook home

CORNER BROOK

A 29-year-old man is in custody following a break-in at a home in Corner Brook early this morning.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to the home just after 2 a.m. A woman reported that she was inside her residence when a male forced his way in and caused substantial damage to the property inside.

The man had left the area before police arrived, but was located at a residence a short distance away and arrested.

The man was charged with break and enter, mischief to property and breach of a court order.

He is to make an appearance in provincial court later today.
