David Claude Cooper of Stephenville is being led into court by court sheriffs.
The Bay St. George RCMP received a report of an armed break and enter into a residence on Main Street in Stephenville at 9:45 p.m. on Monday.
Members of the detachment who responded arrested Cooper and charged him with break and enter, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking and two probation orders.
Judge Lynn E. Cole set a tentative court date for status on Thursday morning, or in the event the time is not available, Cooper is to return to court on Tuesday morning for a bail hearing.
