Trade that white hat for a white apron, and your spending power takes a pretty good hit. Food service managers average $18.10 per hour. Still, as a broad category, the Labour Force Survey found average management wages jumped 5.7 per cent from 2015 to 2016.
Closer to home, Newfoundland and Labrador registered the highest average wage, at $26.25 — $54,600 annually for a 40-hour week. Management wages came in at $33.20, while Sales and Service punchclocks managed just $16.70.
Managers on Prince Edward Island averaged $30.40 in 2016, better than the overall $21.30 average and well above the service industry’s $15.30. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia filled out the middle ground nicely at $22.35 and $23.70 average overall. Here is the full list.
