Council applies for capital works funding

Despite not receiving any municipal capital works money this year, the Stephenville town council has submitted an application for funding under the 2016-17 municipal capital works program.

Council approved the list at its regular general meeting last week. At the top is the second phase of the Grove Street rehabilitation at $1,924,031.40, which is followup to work completed on Phase 1 the previous year.

Second on the list is the St. Clare Avenue rehabilitation at $4,550,273.85, and third is the Maple Street Reconstruction at $891,439.20. All three streets are interconnected.

The fourth item on the list is exterior upgrades to the Regional Aquatic Centre at $99,369.38, while the fifth is the Russell Heights reconstruction at $774,199.49. This is a cul-de-sac road off Main Street.
