The water will be turned off at around 10 p.m. for around 10 to 12 hours to make improvements to the water distrbution system.
Besides the water outage, there will also be a precautionary boil water advisory and road closure as part of this work.
The areas to be affected are as follows:
- Georgetown Road #’s 5 to 161
- Petries Street, including all side roads
- Candow Drive, including all side roads
- Killick Place #”s 5, 6, 8 and 10
- Curling Street #’s 509 and 511
- O’Connell Drive #’s 678 and 679
- Town of Mt. Moriah
O’Connell Drive will be closed to through traffic from the intersection of Allen’s Road to the intersection of Petries Street. The general motoring public is advised to use alternate routes.
Due to the time required for testing to confirm water quality in the systems, the boil water advisory is expected to remain in effect until further notice. Residents will be advised when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
