Mayor Gary Bishop said when it comes to all-terrain vehicles and pedestrians in Pasadena, the two don’t mix.

He said council members certainly don’t want all-terrain vehicles (ATV) using the sidewalks on Main Street in the town.

However, the town would still like to take advantage of all-terrain vehicles coming into Pasadena on designated trails, since it is a benefit for the business sector.

That’s why the town is currently reviewing the policies and regulations that other towns, including Deer Lake and Gander, already have in place.

He said hopefully Pasadena can find that happy medium where ATVs coming into town could have access to certain businesses without compromising the safety of pedestrians.

“If we (town) have ATV use in the municipality, the main concern is always safety so we (town council) want it to be regulated,” Bishop said.
