A large crowd of people enjoyed the music of MPH, a local Stephenville band, during Rock Around the Block – an event of The Friendly Invasion at Coleman’s Food Centre parking lot on Friday afternoon.
Originally scheduled for July 28 but cancelled due to the inclement weather, the event went ahead under sunny skies and mid-20’s temperatures on Friday. Hundreds of people turned out to listen to music, dance to it and take advantage of some of the food and beverages at booths set up for the afternoon. In addition to lots of local people out, there were a large number of visitors to the town dropping by. The Friendly Invasion Happy Days are taking place in Stephenville and the Bay St. George area this summer from July 20 to Aug. 22. A list of the events is available at www.stephenvilleheritage.ca.
