Although he is in custody, the 20-year-old wasn’t present when his matters were called in provincial court in Corner Brook on Tuesday morning.
Instead, his lawyer Hilary Feltham, who appeared by phone, entered guilty pleas to four other charges. They include theft under $5,000 from Wal-Mart, a breach of probation and a breach of an undertaking that occurred on Feb. 2 and a breach of an undertaking from Jan. 28.
The theft from Wal-Mart occurred almost two weeks after Young was released on bail after being arrested for the alleged Jan. 12 attempted break-in at Flynn’s.
He’ll be back in court on March 24 for sentencing on the charges he’s pled guilty to. The three charges from the alleged incident at Flynn’s — breaking and entering with intent, possession of a break-in instrument and failure to comply with a probation order — have been set for status at the same time.
Philip Byrne, his co-accused in the attempted break-in at the pub, is scheduled to appear in court on March 21.
