Stacey Young, a 27-year-old St. Teresa woman charged with committing robbery and conspiracy to commit and indictable offence, has been released from custody.
The release came with a number of conditions under a recognizance when she appeared in Stephenville Provincial Court on Monday via videoconference with Judy Kymil Howe of Corner Brook.
Conditions of her release include: keeping the peace and being of good behaviour, remain in Newfoundland and Labrador, remain in her place of residence in Stephenville Crossing where she is staying with her surety, to observe a curfew of 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily, refrain from contact directly or indirectly with the victim and with Matthew Delaney and not approach either of them within 100 metres, refrain from being around anyone with a criminal record.
Young was also ordered to refrain from the purchase, possession or consumption of non-prescription drugs, provide a urine sample upon request, prohibited from possessing any firearms, present herself at the door of her residence to any peace officer and not change her address without an application to the court.
She was charged for her part in a robbery reported a residence in St. Teresa at about 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 28.
That’s when police received a complaint of a robbery where it is alleged an armed man entered the residence of an 89-year-old man and assaulted him before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
In addition to Young, 33-year-old Matthew Delaney of Stephenville is charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, robbery and breach of probation from the same incident that was investigated by Bay St. George RCMP and the Corner Brook RCMP Serious Crime Unit.
Police said the man was not injured and the suspect, believed to be Delaney, fled the scene in a car.
Delaney was remanded in custody when he appeared in court this past Friday and is expected back in court this Friday.
Young’s next court date is set for Jan.22.
