As part of the ongoing combined sewer separation project in the nearby West Valley Road area, traffic will be flowing two ways along upper West Street in Corner Brook for the next while.
The temporary detour from Park Street to West Street and then to Central Street is expected to be in effect for six to eight weeks, according to the City of Corner Brook, as part of Phase 3 of the project.

The intersection of West Valley Road, Park Street and Central Street will be temporarily closed to allow for construction to take place at the intersection.
Motorists heading downtown, west of Main Street bridge, are encouraged to take O’Connell Drive and Mount Bernard Avenue to bypass the construction completely.
Motorists wishing to access the West Street area are asked to take the following routes:
- If heading west on West Valley Road, motorists are advised to take Humber Park.
- If heading east on Park Street, motorists are advised to take Todd Street, then onto West Street.
Local traffic will be allowed to access West Valley Road and Park Street during this detour.
Motorists are asked to reduce speeds and to obey all detour signage and the direction of flag persons in these areas.
