Water outage

Residents of the Curling area of Corner Brook and the town of Mount Moriah will be without water service for around six to eight hours Thursday.

The City of Corner Brook issued a public advisory Wednesday that the water outage and a road closure has been scheduled to commence at 9 a.m.

One section of Curling, Martin’s Lane and 162-214 Burton’s Lane, will be excluded from the water shutoff.

Georgetown Road will be closed to through traffic from the intersection of O’Connell Drive to the intersection of Curling Street. The motoring public is advised to use alternate routes.

The water outage and road closure are necessary to make repairs to the water distribution system.

Residents can call the city’s Water Information Line at 634-7711 or visit the City’s official website, www.cornerbrook.com, at any time to view current boil water advisories, water outages and road closures.
