Water was flowing again in Howley as of Wednesday afternoon, but the town’s reported issues late Wednesday night and it's out again.
According to a social media post from Mayor Wayne Bennett, both pumps are down now.
A state of emergency called Monday afternoon in light of the town’s water supply system malfunctioning will remain in effect until its original expiry date at 8 a.m. this morning, according to Mayor Wayne Bennett.

Water was partially restored early Wednesday afternoon after more than two days of effort trying to identify and rectify the problem.
One of the water supply’s two pumps was working again, but the other pump will need parts replaced before it can be put back into service.
That changed again late Wednesday.
The town had managed to use a temporary pump to bypass the regular system Tuesday. The reservoir was filling and water flowing from the taps around town, but that successful measure was short-lived as the temporary pump eventually froze up and rendered no longer operational.
