In a public notice issued Thursday morning, the city said that a secondary water main break occurred in the area of Caribou Road when the main feeder was charged.

Crews are on site now and expect the repair will take up to eight hours.

As the repair is being made, Caribou Road — numbers 69-85, and Poplar Road — numbers 3, 7 and 9, are without water.

Water is also off on Valley Road from Pleasant Street to French’s Road, Citadel Drive, Pioneer Street — numbers 5-22, Winston Street and Wellington Street from Valley Road to Citadel Drive.

The city expects to restore service to these streets by noon. However, it said there will be a small number of homes without water when the repair is completed.

After closing early on Wednesday, C.C. Loughlin Elementary School has delayed opening today.

The boil water advisory issued Wednesday remains in place.
