A special weather statement was issued this morning for the entire island, forecasting everything from flurries to freezing rain.

In eastern Newfoundland, rain will change to flurries or freezing drizzle this evening as temperatures drop into the negatives.

In central and northeastern Newfoundland, as well as southwestern Newfoundland from Bay St. George to Port aux Basques, rain or snow is expected to change to snow and ice pellets today. Some areas will get a trace of snow, with other areas getting about 5 cm or more.

Freezing rain is also possible in these areas. A freezing rain warning is in effect this morning for Buchans and the interior, Connaigre and Burgeo-Ramea.

In western and northern Newfoundland, snow is expected, with about 5 cm in the west and lesser amounts in the north.
