Mount Pearl, N.L. — A 38-year-old man was arrested after the RNC responded to a report of a person being held against her will in Mount Pearl Friday afternoon. Police were at the scene just after 4:30 p.m..

Through the investigation, and with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Division, the accused was arrested on charges of forcible confinement and sexual assault.

He appeared in court Saturday morning and will be back in court Monday for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing.
