Makkovik man drowns

MAKKOVIK, N.L. – A Makkovik man who went fishing in the community and had not been seen for a few days has been found drowned.

A release issued today, July 16, indicated the RCMP was advised the man was missing yesterday around 12:30 p.m.

A short while later, his body was located in shallow water near Hawk’s Cliff, the release stated.

The investigation is continuing.
