A 33-year-old Stephenville man and a 27-year-old St. Teresa woman have been charged with robbery and other offences in relation to an incident in St. Teresa.

Police received a complaint of a robbery at a residence in St. Teresa at about 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 28 where it is alleged an armed man entered the residence of an 89-year-old man and assaulted him before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.

The man was not injured and the suspect fled the scene in a car.

A joint investigation by Stephenville RCMP and the Corner Brook RCMP Serious Crime Unit resulted in Matthew Delaney being charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, robbery and breach of probation.

He appeared in Stephenville Provincial Court and was remanded into custody with a new court date of Dec. 15.
