North River man arrested for alleged armed robbery at Conception Bay Highway gas station

BAY ROBERTS, N.L. – A 30-year-old man from North River has been arrested for an alleged armed robbery at a gas station on the Conception Bay Highway early Sunday morning, July 15.

Bay Roberts RCMP responded to the scene shortly after 4 a.m., according to a release.

The man, who said he had a weapon, entered the store and demanded money. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Bay Roberts detachment and the general investigation section in Harbour Grace are working on the investigation.

The man was held in custody and will appear in Harbour Grace Provincial Court later today, July 16.

He will be charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a weapon while under a prohibition order, the release indicated.
