As a result of an investigation on Monday, a 23-year-old Heatherton man was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A prepared release from the Bay St. George RCMP said it about 10 a.m. that members responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Route 490 near Stephenville Crossing, resulting in the stop and arrest.
The Bay St. George RCMP reminds the public of the dangers of impaired operation of a vehicle and urges motorists to call 911 should they suspect someone is driving while impaired.
Providing a description of the vehicle and driver, a license plate number and direction of travel can assist police in locating the vehicle and getting the impaired driver off the road.
