An early morning fire on Wheeler’s Road in Noel’s Pond is being treated as suspicious, according to the Bay St. George RCMP.
Corp. John Butler said the fire at a home that was under construction at 35 Wheeler’s Road was reported to police at 4:25 a.m. with members of the Stephenville and Kippens Fire Departments responding and spending a little more than three hours on site.
A member of the Bay St. George RCMP was guarding the location this morning with another member from the detachment expected on the scene later this morning being assisted by investigators from Fire and Emergency Services out of Deer Lake.
It’s believed that insurance was carried on the home.
