CORNER BROOK
Pride Week activities for Corner Brook will wrap up Saturday with a parade and queer prom.
Organized by Western Pride NL, the parade will start from city hall at 10:30 a.m. and take a route down Main Street, up Mount Bernard Avenue, onto O’Connell Drive and end at Margaret Bowater Park. There will be a barbecue at the park.
Saturday night, the queer prom will take place at the Backlot at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Irma Gerd, a drag queen from St. John’s, will host and entertain at the event.
The prom gets underway 9 p.m.
Other events that were held during the week included Queer Culture Talks, an open-mic night and a presentation of the Queer Monologues.
