A St. Jude’s man already serving time for Internet child luring has had the latest charges against him set over to Jan. 16 to give his defence lawyer time to continue discussions with the Crown.
Oral Clarke, 65, of St. Jude’s, appeared in provincial court in Corner Brook via videoconference on Tuesday morning.

He was charged in December with unlawfully luring a child under 18 by means of a computer system and unlawfully luring a child under 16 by means of a computer system.
The former businessman was convicted in June 2017 of unlawfully luring a child under 18 by means of a computer system and possessing child pornography and sentenced to 20 months in jail.
Shortly after his conviction the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of Newfoundland and Labrador Internet Child Exploitation Team issued a public appeal for more victims.
Clarke wasn’t named in the appeal, but police said they were looking for anyone else who may have interacted with a 65-year-old man from the Deer Lake area who had been using the pseudonym Ammon Charlebois online and who had recently been convicted of Internet luring crimes.
Facts presented to the court on the charges he was convicted of indicate that Clarke claimed to be a 12-year-old boy in his online interactions.
