Curling, Newfoundland Nov. 10, 1949 – Feb. 11, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Captain Scott Anderson announces his passing on Sunday, February 11, 2018. His life was well lived: full of adventures big and small that he shared with many loved ones. He passed away peacefully at the Cancer Care Centre in St. John’s surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his parents Captain S. Kirk Anderson (1927-1999) and F. Alfreda Anderson (1931-2016) and brother Ralph Roy Anderson (1951-2017), brother-in-law Bill Collins. He leaves to mourn a large group of family and lifelong friends. In particular his loving wife and life partner Daphne Nolan-Anderson; his sons Samuel James (Jennifer Brake) and Robert Roy Anderson; his brother Kirk D. Anderson (Jennifer) and sister Nancy E. Anderson-Forbes (Doug); brothers and sisters-in-law: Judy Collins, Tony Nolan (Judy), Shirley (Larry), Sharon (Tony), Harold (Carm), Darlene (Jim), Juanita (Rob) and Jim (Linda); lifelong friend Roy Perry; the crew of the Nancy-Jillian and a large group of nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly. Family and friends may visit Fillatres’ Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday, February 15th from 7-9 p.m. and Friday February 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Curling Memorial United Church, Curling Street with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
