Rosiemarie Samms
And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count; it’s the life in your years. The saddest thing we must do in life is to say good-bye to our loved ones and so it is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend who passed away on August 9th, 2018 at Western Memorial Hospital in her 90th year after a brave struggle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her six children: Clara Gillingham – Ralph; Loretta Bennett – Gerard; Rick Samms – Wendy; Judy Butt – Rod and Diane Hennessey – Kevin all of Corner Brook; Reg Samms – Shirley of Brooks, AB and Sheri Lynn Howell – Peter of St. John’s, NL; 28 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; all of whom she loved so very deeply. Daughters-in-law: Barbara Molloy of Fairview, AB and Kelly Samms of Windsor, ON and son-in-law David Snooks of Corner Brook. Brothers – Steve Clarke (Mabel); Don Clarke (Bobbie – sister-in-law and friend); Jerry Clarke (Vicki) of Corner Brook; and sister – Kay Haldane of Barrie, ON, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pre-deceased by 1st husband William Molloy, 2nd husband Richard Samms; Sons: Clyde Molloy, Fairview, AB., Robert Samms, Windsor, ON. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses in the palliative care unit at WMH. The care provided was remarkable; the friendship shown to mom brought her a level of comfort that she cherished. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Food Bank, Sacred Heart Parish or to a charity of your choice.
