Yes! You read it! I’m white and proud! I only want blonde-haired, blue-eyed people who don’t come from shit-hole countries like Haiti, El Salvador and any country in Africa, to become citizens in my country! I do want people from Norway and, oh yes, let’s have a smattering of Asians ‘cause we all know how smart they are!

It also looks that I’m trying to be inclusive too. Except, I don’t want Muslims, Mexicans and certainly, “Jews will not replace us!” Thank God for those nice White neo-Nazi supremacists in Charlottesville for that pearl of wisdom!

Thank the Lord, too, for all the Republicans (Senators and Congressmen and women) who have not come out against me for using “salty language.” They know on which side their “bread is buttered” and by whom is doing the buttering!

Hey! Here’s a way to deflect the backlash to my remarks: Put it out there that I like colour. After all, look at the colour of my 71-year-old hair — orange — not to mention my orange skin. Dare I say “Orange is the new black”?

I can’t be racist, right? Look at all the black, brown and Latin workers I have at my golf courses and other businesses. No, they’ re not members. They’ re low-paid workers who cater to my rich white friends.

Mr. Trump, you are a proud white racist! You have demonstrated this on a regular basis throughout your life.

You, sir, are the antithesis of the once vaunted American Dream as represented by the Statue of Liberty and the quote, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses…”

In an effort to appeal to your “base,” you have used base language coupled with an antiquated colonial world view.

It makes me thank all that is holy that I live in Canada, as a second-generation member of Syrian and Irish-English immigrants.

Our country is far from perfect but we still manage to try and welcome all peoples, regardless of their ethnicity or country of origin.

Shame on you sir!

Rick Solo, Corner Brook
