Search turns to recovery effort for missing Trout River man

TROUT RIVER  The search for a missing Trout River man has turned into a recovery effort, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Albert Brake, 47, was last seen swimming near the beach at Trout River Sunday evening, and has not been accounted for since.

Police out of the Rocky Harbour detachment, the Canadian Coast Guard, Bonne Bay Ground Search and Rescue,and local volunteers conducted an extensive search in an attempt to locate him.

He has not been found. Police consider the matter to now be a recovery mission.

 The RCMP’s provincial dive team will be conducting underwater searches of the area over the next few days as required.
