Pint-sized Whitecaps midfielder Cristian Techera back buzzing early in 2017
VANCOUVER — Cristian Techera had already scored in a game earlier this month when he made a crucial play that went largely unnoticed.

Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl will be available for Game 5 against the San Jose Sharks.
The NHL announced on Wednesday that Draisaitl avoided suspension and will be fined for spearing Sharks forward Chris Tierney in the groin in Game 4 of the first-round series.
Draisaitl had a hearing with the league's department of player safety to determine any consequences. The infraction will cost him US$2,569.44, the maximum allowable under the CBA.
The incident occurred at 13:44 of the second period. Draisaitl was assessed a major penalty for spearing and a game misconduct.
San Jose went on to a 7-0 win in Game 4 to even the series 2-2.
Edmonton hosts Game 5 on Thursday.
