Barrett takes short distance triathlon win in Massey Drive

With a total time of 55:14.6, Carl Barrett emerged victorious in the 2018 Cancer Fighter Triathlon on Sunday at Tippings Pond in Massey Drive.

The short distance triathlon consists of a 500-metre swim, 16-kilometre bike, and 4-km run.

Nicklas Dolomount came in second place with a time of 59:04.3, with Heidi Perry placing third after crossing the line in 1:03:56.5. Perry was the top female competitor.

Finishing third among men was Birender Wadhwa, who clocked in at 1:05:21.1.

Lisa LeDrew was second female racer to cross the line, with a time of 1:11:28.4. Sarah Feltham came in third among women with a final time of 1:13:44.5.

There were only three participants registered for the short distance duathlon, which features a 2-km run, 16-km bike, and another 2-km run.

Jonathan Grandy was tops there with a final clocking of 52:26.3.
Peter Ollerhead came in second at 55:47.6, with Chad Parsons third across the line at 1:03:28.9.

In the team short distance duathlon, Robyn Dillman (run) and Justin Whittle (bike) edged out Laura Edwards (run) and Vicki Parsons (bike) 53:24.3 to 53:45.1.
