The girls defeated Mount Pearl 7-4 in the final, with Emily O’Quinn and Katie Fisher both standing out with 2-for-3 performances at the plate. O’Quinn managed an inside-the-park home run for her side.
Fisher was named tournament MVP, while teammate Emma White picked up the top defensive player award.
The Corner Brook team, Mount Pearl and St. John’s all finished the round robin at 3-1. Corner Brook then downed St. John’s 10-6 in a tiebreaker game to determine which team would advance to the final to play Mount Pearl.
O’Quinn was 3-for-3 in that one, racking up four RBIs, while Emma White was 3-for-4.
A second Corner Brook team, the C&M Contractors Barons, ended up at 1-3, while Grand Falls-Windsor was 0-4.
In the Canadian Tire Barons other games, scores were: Corner Brook 15, Grand Falls-Windsor 11; Corner Brook 19, Corner Brook C&M Contractors 8; St. John’s 15, Corner Brook 12; Corner Brook 9, Mount Pearl 5.
The C&M Contractors Barons defeated Grand Falls-Windsor 24-22 in extra innings, while dropping a 24-7 game to St. John’s and a 10-8 decision to Mount Pearl.
