It took the Veitch’s Ultramar Hawks just five innings to rack up 15 runs in a mercy-rule win over the Wing’n It Marlins on Tuesday night at Jubilee Field.

Ian Griffin stood out for the Hawks with four runs scored and two RBIs in a 2-for-3 effort in the 15-2 Corner Brook Molson Senior Baseball League win.

Ryan Hepditch scored twice while going 3-for-3 in the win.

Andrew Flood, Kyle Brown and Josh Oake were all 1-for-3 in the loss, with Flood and Brown scoring runs, and Oake picking up an RBI.

Cory Lockyer pitched all five innings for the victors, allowing two runs on four hits, with three strikeouts and one walk.

Danny Glover took the loss in a two-inning appearance on the mound. He surrendered eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits, with two strikeouts and two walks. Wayne Hicks also threw two innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on two hits. He walked six and struck out two. Nick Mercer got in for one inning, giving up five hits, giving up two runs, with one of them earned.
