Rain has delayed action in the Mary Tavenor Memorial Baseball Tournament in Corner Brook, but it is hoped play will resume Saturday afternoon.

Organizers of the Mary Tavenor Memorial Baseball Tournament in Corner Brook are hoping the rain goes away soon.

The annual minor baseball tournament began Friday and has a full slate of games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

None of the fields being used were in any condition for play with steady rainfall Saturday morning.

It was hoped the rain would taper off and the fields could be ready to resume play at 2 p.m.

More than 30 teams in female, mosquito, peewee and bantam divisions are involved in the tournament being played on five fields throughout Corner Brook.
