Don Boland of Bally Haly Country Club overcame a three-stroke deficit after the first round to capture his third consecutive provincial super senior championship with a two-day total of 158 and win by one stroke over Day 1 leader Andrew Hynes, from Clovelly.

Bob Skanes of Gander Golf Club recorded a two-day total of 168 to secure third place.

Linda Webber of Bally Haly Country Club used the home course advantage to record a second round 83 for a two-day total of 176 and capture her first super senior division crown by five strokes over Day 1 leader Sherilyn Beaton of Clovelly. Bobbie Boland of Clovelly carded a 94 for a total of 190 to retain her third-place finish.

2016 provincial amateur champion Blair Bursey of Gander recorded the low round of the day with a five-under par 65 to take a six-stroke lead over Andrew Bruce of Humber Valley Resort.

Bruce recorded a two-day total of 146 and two strokes ahead of Corner Brook native Michael Tibbo and Matthew Woodland, both representing Bally Haly Country Club.

In the women's amateur division, Taylor Cormier of Blomidon Golf Club recorded an 88 for a two-day total of 173 and tied with Day 1 leader Janet Mills of Bally Haly Country Club.

Allison Crawford of Bally Haly pulled ahead of Rosie Boland to take sole possession of third place with a two-day total of 176.

Mills remains in first place in the mid-amateur division by three strokes over Allison Crawford, who carded an 84 to put her within striking distance of Mills heading into the final day. Kathleen Jean of Harmon Seaside Links recorded an 86 to put her six strokes behind the leader. Mills also has the lead in the senior ladies division with a three-stroke lead over super senior champion Linda Webber and six strokes ahead of third place Kathleen Jean.

Tibbo and Woodland are tied for the lead in the men's mid amateur division with two-day totals of 148 and a three-stroke lead over Nikashantess Penashue of Amaruk Golf Club.

In the senior men's division, Chuck Conley of Bally Haly recorded a 78 for a two-day total of 155 to remain in first place with a one stroke lead over Eddie Bearns of Bally Haly Country Club who carded a 76.

2018 super senior champion Don Boland and 2017 senior champion George Chaulk are tied for third with a two-day total of 158 and just three strokes off the pace.

Some of the major highlights from Day 2 include an eagle and six birdies by Blair Bursey of Gander, Andrew Bruce of Corner Brook recorded an eagle on Hole 18, while Ryan McNeil-Lamswood of Stephenville recorded an eagle on the par 5, 12th hole.

The final round is scheduled to begin 7:20 a.m. today starting with the ladies, followed by the men's senior, mid-amateur and amateur division.

Presentations are planned for the Haly Room at 2 p.m. for the ladies and 7 p.m. for the men.
