The Gary Oke rink out of the Corner Brook Curling Club will be competing at this year’s national masters men’s curling championship after emerging as the champion at the provincial level over the weekend.

Hosted in Corner Brook, the Oke rink — also featuring George King, Jim Goodyear, and Pete Glavine — went 4-0 to capture the provincial crown.

He began the round robin-style championship with a 9-1 triumph over Team O’Brien from the Gateway Curling Club in Port aux Basques, before thumping Team Bateman, also of Gateway, 10-0.

The next day, Oke beat O’Brien again 11-1, then completed the perfect weekend with an 11-7 win against Bateman.
