Curling Rangers capture another Corner Brook Women’s Soccer League championship

The Island Orthotics Curling Rangers are the Corner Brook Molson Women’s Soccer League champions for the fourth year in a row.

Ashley Preston kept the clean sheet, while Michelle Noseworthy scored the goal that stood as the game-winner as the Rangers shut down Clancy’s of Stephenville 3-0 in the championship game at Wellington Street Sports Complex on Wednesday night.

Sam Meaney also scored in the win, while the third marker came courtesy an own-goal charged against Stephenville’s Kayla Bailey.

Noseworthy opened the scoring in the 35^th minute, before Meaney drove a dagger in the opposition’s heart by making it a two-goal game just two minutes later.

The own-goal occurred in the 77^th minute, sealing the deal on another Rangers title.

Susan Fowlow took the loss in net for Stephenville.
